Half Marathon Training Program

Oak Brook Half Marathon Monday, September 5

Want to run your first Half Marathon or PR at the Oak Brook Half Marathon?  This group training is for you!

Join experienced marathon runner and coach Sally Head for clinics and weekly coached workouts preparing you for the Oak Brook Half Marathon on Monday, September 5.  Each week participants will receive a training plan for the upcoming week and the opportunity to participate in two group runs. The group runs will be held in the Oak Brook area and participants will be training on the actual race course.  There is no better way to prepare for the race!

Program Requirements

Before you sign up for this program, you must be able to run 30 minutes consecutively without stopping.  All ages and abilities are welcome to participate.  You can do this!

How often and where will we meet?

We will meet every Wednesday and Saturday beginning Saturday, June 18.  The Wednesday runs will be at 6:00 pm at the Oak Brook Park District on Jorie Blvd and the Saturday runs will be at 7:00 a.m. at the Fullersburg Nature Center main parking lot. 

What do I need to bring?

For the workouts you will need a good pair of running shoes, running clothes (shorts, shirt, etc) and a water bottle. 

What are the benefits of working out with a coached group?

Working out with a group not only provides you with the accountability, you will have the opportunity to learn from an experienced runner and triathlon coach.  Working out with a group pushes you farther than you would have gone on your own.  Whether this is your first half marathon or you are an experienced veteran, you will benefit from this program.

What is the cost (investment in myself)?

Group training with an experienced running coach has a registration fee of $99.  That includes 20 coached workouts and running specific clinics.    This is a great opportunity to receive motivating coaching by a USA Triathlon certified coach at a fraction of the cost of being privately coached.

We are now accepting registrations for half marathon training. Once we receive your registration and payment, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with the start date, clinic locations and times and your first week training plan.
